Priority is given to ensuring that the management of our hunting grounds is sustainable, compatible with the needs of nature and appropriate to use as pastureland. The land boasts a wide range of different game species: roe deer, wild boar, red deer, fallow deer, mufflon, small game.
Two hunting grounds are managed using our own professional hunting staff. In the floodplains alongside the March and the Thaya, an area that is scenically particularly attractive, and in the hilly and varied Vienna Woods, prospective hunters can acquire the right to shoot individual animals, with a choice of roe dear, wild boar, fallow deer and mufflon (pricelists available on enquiry).
The remaining areas are let on long-term leases to reliable huntsmen. If you are interested in leasing a hunting ground from the Wilfersdorf Agricultural and Forestry Business, you can have your name put on the waiting list (for telephone numbers, see contact).Fishing
The low-lying plain of the March and Thaya rivers in the area between Bernhardsthal and Hohenau provides a wide range of opportunities for anglers. The 20 km of river and the former branches of the river contain wild carp, mirror carp, pike-perch, pike, catfish, tench, eel etc. In recent years, considerable investments have been made to reverse the interventions made in nature in the past (river regulation measures 1960-1980). These activities (linking up the old river branches, improvement of spawning grounds etc.) are still being pursued so as to maintain and improve the unique nature of this river landscape. For the fishing districts March I/7, Thaya I/1 and Thaya I/4, fishers can acquire full-year, monthly or daily licences (Lower Austrian angling licence required).Points of sale:
